Vouch helps you limit your own screen time. When you run out, only a friend can give you more. This document explains exactly what leaves your device.

We do not sell your data, we do not run ads, and we do not use analytics or tracking SDKs.

What we collect

Your pair code

Every device gets a six-character code (for example 6UYA44). This is how your friend's app finds your requests. It is not linked to your name or your phone number.

Your account (required)

You sign in with Google or Apple. We store your email address and an account identifier so your code survives reinstalling the app.

Signing in is required. Vouch cannot be used without an account — approvals have to come from a friend, and we cannot tell your friend apart from you unless both of you are signed in.

On Android, Google is the only sign-in method. On iOS you can use Google or Apple. If you sign in with Apple and choose "Hide My Email", we only ever see Apple's relay address.

Your name and picture (optional)

You can set a nickname and a profile picture so your friends see a person instead of a six-character code. Both are stored on our server and are visible to the friends you are connected to. Both are optional and you can remove them at any time; if you do not set them, your friends see your pair code.

Your limits

We store the limits you create so your friend can see what you are asking about, and so your settings survive reinstalling.

• On iOS, we store a name you write yourself and the number of minutes. We cannot see which apps you chose — Apple's Screen Time API gives apps an opaque token that cannot be resolved to an app name or bundle identifier, and we have no way to work around that.
• On Android, we store the package name of each app you limit (for example com.google.android.youtube), its display name, and how many seconds you have used it today. Android does expose this to us, and the app uploads it so that your limits survive clearing app data or reinstalling.

This is a real difference between the two platforms and we would rather state it plainly than round it off.

Your requests

When you ask a friend for more time, we store the number of minutes you asked for and the message you wrote. In the app, your friend is shown your code, the minutes, and your message. We do not show them your usage statistics, and we do not tell them which app you were using.
